Susanna Clarke is a British novelist best known for her debut novel, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, which became a New York Times bestseller and was adapted into a BBC series. After a lengthy hiatus due to illness, Clarke returned with Piranesi, a critically acclaimed second novel that won the 2021 Women’s Prize for Fiction.
